The 2026 footgolf season in the Canary Islands began with a spectacular double opening at Golf del Sur, where Rounds 1 and 2 of the Canarian Footgolf League and the corresponding Rounds 1 and 2 of the Tenerife Island League were played simultaneously.

Open Category: Zeben Díaz and Sandro Rodríguez shine with -7
The first round was led by Zeben Díaz, who carded an outstanding -7, prevailing with authority despite the wind gusts that complicated several holes.
In the second round, it was Sandro Rodríguez’s turn, matching the score with another -7, demonstrating a very high level and leaving the standings wide open from the start.
Women: Esther Montiel dominates the weekend
In the women’s category, Esther Montiel was the great dominator of the double opening. She took Round 1 with -2 and won again in Round 2 with +4, showing consistency and an ability to adapt to the wind that made the difference.
Senior: victories for Zeben Díaz and Jonay García
In the Senior category, the first round also went to Zeben Díaz, securing a double triumph on his debut.
The second round crowned Jonay García, who signed a solid -4, leveraging his experience to manage the wind and the most technical holes of the course.
Junior: Martín Guerrero, a clean sweep
Young Martín Guerrero claimed both rounds, confirming his excellent progression and establishing himself as one of the great promises of Canarian footgolf.

Senior+ (+55): Julio Durán Pérez starts with a double
In the Senior+ category, Julio Durán Pérez signed a perfect league start with two consecutive victories, demonstrating precision, calm and a reading of the course that made the difference.
