What is stored in your browser — and when

Cookies and local storage

A cookie is a small file a website places in your browser. Local storage serves a similar purpose but is not sent to the server with every request: the value stays on your device. This site uses both, and deliberately sparingly: before you decide, no analytics or advertising cookie is set.

Your decision

On your first visit a notice appears with three categories. Necessary cookies cannot be switched off — without them your own decision could not be remembered. Everything else stays off until you turn it on. Until you accept the “Analytics” category, measurement remains blocked through Google Consent Mode v2: the tag loads, but may neither read nor write identifiers.

What is stored, exactly

IV.

Third-party content that loads only on click

Some content sits on third-party servers and passes your IP address to them as it loads. That is why it does not load by itself: a placeholder naming the provider appears instead. The content loads when you click it, and that click is your consent.
  • Google Maps (Google Ireland Limited) — the map on the contact page.
  • James Ferraby Golf Academy — the booking system on the academy page.
If you allow it to load, that provider's own privacy policy applies in addition.

Changing or withdrawing your decision

You can change your choice at any time through the “Cookies” entry in the footer, which reopens the notice. Withdrawal takes effect immediately: analytics cookies are no longer set. You can also delete cookies already set from your browser settings. If you clear local storage, the notice will appear again on your next visit.
VI.

What this site does not do

  • It loads no typefaces from Google servers — the fonts are served from ours.
  • It sets no advertising cookies and embeds no cross-site tracking networks.
  • It sends no data to social networks when a page is opened.
  • It uses no cookie wall: the site works in full without accepting analytics.
